HARTFORD, Mich. (July 11) — The old big Hartford Speedway suited Billy Moyer Jr. very well. So does the new, small(er) version of the Wolverine State oval.

Just over one year after winning an American Ethanol Tour event on Hartford’s former half-mile monster oval, Moyer returned Tuesday night to test himself on the shortened, 3/8-mile layout and enjoyed more success, scoring a flag-to-flag victory off the pole position in the 40-lap UMP DIRTcar Summernationals feature.

Jason Feger Wins at Kickapoo Speedway

DANVILLE, Ill. — Polesitter Jason Feger of Bloomington, Ill., outran a handful of Summernationals foes and bested a rugged race track to capture his 18th career UMP DIRTcar Summernationals victory Sunday night at Kickapoo Speedway near Danville, Ill. Feger beat runner-up Gordy Gundaker of St. Charles, Mo., by 2.37 seconds to collect a much-needed win worth $5,000.

Pierce muscles way to Highland victory

HIGHLAND, Ill. (July 8) — Bobby Pierce said he likes bullrings. Point taken.

Pierce, of Oakwood, Ill., emerged from a three-way battle with Chad Zobrist of Highland, Ill., and Daryn Klein of Fairview Heights, Ill., to win his fourth UMP DIRTcar Summernationals race of the season Saturday night at Highland Speedway.

Battling the two local stars on their home turf, the third-starting Pierce muscled his way into the lead just past the halfway mark of the 50-lapper and went on to win his second tour event in three days.

Marler wins at Farmer City

FARMER CITY, Ill. — Taking advantage of his prime starting spot on a track with limited passing, Mike Marlar of Winfield, Tenn., led flag-to-flag at Farmer City Speedway to collect his fourth career UMP DIRTcar Summernationals victory and first in a decade. With the Farmer City Speedway surface becoming uncharacteristically one-laned early in the main event Marlar showed patience in lapped traffic while hitting his marks as low as he could get around the 1/4-mile oval.

Bobby Pierce wins Herald & Review 100 at Macon Speedway

MACON, Ill. — Retaking the lead on lap 73 after a back-and-forth battle with Ryan Unzicker, Bobby Pierce of Oakwood, Ill., ran away over the final 27 laps to win his second straight Herald & Review 100 at Macon Speedway. Pierce collected $5,000 for his third victory of the season on the UMP DIRTcar Summernationals tour.
