FARMER CITY, Ill. — Taking advantage of his prime starting spot on a track with limited passing, Mike Marlar of Winfield, Tenn., led flag-to-flag at Farmer City Speedway to collect his fourth career UMP DIRTcar Summernationals victory and first in a decade. With the Farmer City Speedway surface becoming uncharacteristically one-laned early in the main event Marlar showed patience in lapped traffic while hitting his marks as low as he could get around the 1/4-mile oval.

Bobby Pierce wins Herald & Review 100 at Macon Speedway

MACON, Ill. — Retaking the lead on lap 73 after a back-and-forth battle with Ryan Unzicker, Bobby Pierce of Oakwood, Ill., ran away over the final 27 laps to win his second straight Herald & Review 100 at Macon Speedway. Pierce collected $5,000 for his third victory of the season on the UMP DIRTcar Summernationals tour.

Brandon Sheppard wins at Fayette County victory

BROWNSTOWN, Ill. (July 4) — Brandon Sheppard’s UMP DIRTcar Summernationals hot streak continued on Tuesday night at Fayette County Speedway. Leading all but the first circuit of the 50-lap Fourth of July special, the New Berlin, Ill., driver scored his fifth straight Hell Tour victory.

Quincy gives Sheppard four in row on UMP tour

QUINCY, Ill. (July 3) — Overtaking race leader Kyle Bronson of Brandon, Fla., on lap 15 of 40, Brandon Sheppard of New Berlin, Ill., fought back multiple challenges from Shannon Babb of Moweaqua, Ill., to score his fourth straight UMP DIRTcar Summernationals victory at Quincy Raceway.

“Luckily, Plymouth was the only track I hadn’t been to and the last three have been really good tracks of mine,” Sheppard said. “The past couple of nights have been close to home and it’s just cool to finally get the family to see me race and see me win at that."
